International Day of Women and Girls in Science
February 11th – The day recognizes the crucial role women play in Science and Technology and highlights the ongoing need for gender equality in STEM fields for future generations.
Staff at Colas Portsmouth were sent an email and posters were placed around the depot to mark the observance day.
International Day of Women and Girls in Science is observed on February 11th each year. This date was chosen to honour the birthday of Marie Curie, a pioneering physicist and chemist who made groundbreaking contributions to the fields of radioactivity and nuclear physics. Marie Curie remains an inspirational figure for women in science.
