The City of Portsmouth College Construction Fair

Colas Portsmouth attended a Construction Fair for Students of The City of Portsmouth College on the 25th March 2026.

The City of Portsmouth College, North Harbour Campus, is a specialist training hub for construction, building services, and green technologies. It features modern facilities and hosts the UK’s first Net Zero training hub for sustainable technology skills. The site focuses on construction and building services for adults, young people, and apprentices, including trades like brickwork, plumbing, and electrical installation.

Colas spoke to students about broadening their career search beyond the obvious roles linked to their chosen training and encouraged them to think outside the box and explore the wide range of opportunities that Colas—and many other companies—have to offer. For example, our Electrical Engineers work on areas such as street lighting and traffic signal systems, demonstrating how their Electrical skills can be applied in less traditional but highly valuable role.
